Signature Trends

FeatureBench constantly scans submissions, and we might identify a trend of several students submitting similarly incorrect files. If this is the case, we will send you an email informing you that we have identified a new trend and inviting you to log into your dashboard.

If you click on the notifications bell in your FeatureBench account, you will see notice of the new trend, with a “Dismiss” or “Add Signature” button. If you select “Add Signature”, we will automatically add the new signature to your assignment and open the assignment editor so you can provide an earned point value and feedback.

Be sure to save your work in the assignment editor once you are done!

Once finished, we will go through and immediately re-grade any submissions with the previously offending signature, and email the student that their assignment has been regraded.

Just because multiple students have a part with the same mistake, that does not necessarily mean the submission was plagarized. It of course is possible that they may have worked together and thus arrived at the same solution, but often this is due to students misunderstanding the assignment or making small mistakes (forgetting a feature etc). We still scan parts through our plagarism checker and will notify you of any offending submissions per our plagarism mechanism.
